that requires less frequent mowing than most other bluegrasses. Blue Velvet is recommended for use wherever a premium quality Kentucky Bluegrass turf is needed. It can be cut to 1/2”, and is suitable for golf course fairways and roughs. It can be used in sod blends, on sports turf, in parks and on high quality home lawns. It performs well under high or low maintenance. Compared to most Midntight-type varieties, Blue Velvet has a very good adaptation to shady conditions. It is rare to find the overall disease resistance that Blue Velvet posesses.
